Children have been injured and an air ambulance was called in to attend a shock accident in which a branch broke from a tree and fell on a group of 47 people.
Polish police confirmed that a branch falling in the picturesque Korzeniowy Gorge hit the group, which included 43 children aged 11 to 12 and their four caregivers, earlier this morning.
Policja Puławska said in a statement posted to social media that they conducted "rescue operations" after the accident, with an air ambulance sped in to treat people at the scene and one
teenager transported to hospital in Lublin. Two others, the service added, were transported to a hospital in Puławy by ambulance.

The service said: "Today, around 10:08 in the Korzeniowy Gorge at the ul Potholes in Kazimierz Dolny, a branch that broke from the tree fell on a group of 47 people (43 children aged 11-12)
and their 4 caregivers.
"Rescue operations are ongoing on site, one child was transported by LPR helicopter to a hospital in Lublin, two to the hospital in Puławy by ambulance, other people, including caregivers,
are being assisted on site. The statement added: "We will keep you updated with the information."
Korzeniowy Gorge is a tree-lined local landmark (Image:Policja Puławska/Facebook)Korzeniowy Dol Gorge, known in native Polish as Wąwóz Korzeniowy Dół is a pictursque tourist attraction in the eastern Polish town of Kazimierz Dolny.
The gorge, a famous natural landmark, is around 400 metres long and several metres deep in some places, with its walls dotted with twisted tree roots. People who visit the area need up to 30
minutes to cross the tree-lined route and return, according to local tourist sites.
Emergency services remain on the scene following the accident (Image:Policja Puławska/Facebook)Marcin Babula an attending officer from local Lublin firefighters, said 13 people were injured, three of whom seriously, while 10 were left with minor injuries.
They said: "Thirteen people were injured, including three more seriously - they probably have broken limbs. Ten people have minor injuries, they suffered abrasions."
The 10 are believed to have suffered abrasions, with Senior Superintendent Andrzej Fijołek, the spokesman for the Lublin police, Senior Superintendent saying people were being attended to on
site.
The rescue operation is ongoing, local outlet rmf24 reported, with an air ambulance helicopter, ambulances and six fire engines remaining on site at present.
