on Wednesday (May 01), petrol bombs were lobbed at the heavily guarded Shillong Sadar police station and Rynjah police station in Meghalaya. With these three attacks, incidents of such

petrol bomb lobbing in Shillong city of Meghalaya have risen to eight. Earlier, five separate incidents involving petrol bombs have targeted police stations, government property, and

vehicles in the past few days. None of the perpetrators behind these attacks have been identified or apprehended. While the motive behind these attacks remains unclear, some police sources

suspect a possible connection to the recent arrest of some student union members in connection with the killings of three non-tribal labourers. In response to these escalating attacks, the

Meghalaya government has directed all department heads to heighten security measures for both government offices and vehicles.
