A police official said the bus, going from Bemina to Zewan, carrying the Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police personnel, was attacked in the evening.
While the deceased was identified as Kishan Lal, head constable, the injured policemen were rushed to the Army’s 92 Base Hospital at Badami Bagh cantonment. The condition of the three
others is stable, an IE said even as TOI report said that the officers had “sustained serious bullet injuries” and “were critical”.
Meanwhile, Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba has claimed the responsibility of the attack, TOI reported.
This comes hours after a BSF assistant sub-inspector was killed in ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch.
