The indoor adventure and trampoline park opened in a former Big Lots on U.S. 30 in Hobart near the Southlake Mall last year and is now looking to add a second Northwest Indiana location. The
Dallas-based family entertainment company, which bills itself as "the ultimate indoor adventure park and a destination for family fun," is planning to take over a former Gordman's
storefront in the Porter's Vale outdoor shopping mall in Valparaiso.
Urban Air Adventure Park plans to renovate a 43,963-square-foot space at 710 Porter's Vale into an indoor recreation facility. It will join JCPenney, Dick's Sporting Goods, Cinemark, Meijer,
Kirkland, McAllister's Deli and other retailers in the Porter's Vale Shipping Center just off Indiana 49 on Valparaiso's east side.
Urban Air Adventure Park's first Northwest Indiana location at 3201 E. Lincoln Highway in Hobart features many attractions for kids, including spin zone bumper cars, flip zone bumper cars,
dodgeball, the runaway tumble track, the sky rider, a ropes course, ProZone Performance Trampolines, APEX Trampolines, climbing walls, the leap of faith, the warrior course and wipeout. It
also has a battle beam, the tubes indoor playground and a slam dunk zone where kids can jump off trampolines to dunk a basketball.

It's one of many adventure parks to open in Northwest Indiana in recent years, including Ninja Kidz Action Park in Hammond, Sky Zone Adventure Park in Schererville and Kids Empire in the
Southlake Mall in Hobart.
Founded in 2011, Urban Air Adventure Park now has nearly 300 locations, including in Chicago and Indianapolis. Its slogan is "where fun takes flight."
The company is subsidiary of Unleashed Brands, whose other businesses include Snapology, The Little Gym, Premier Martial Arts, Class 101 College Planning and the XP League. Entrepreneur
magazine ranked it as the No. 1 entertainment franchise on its annual Franchise 500 list.
No timetable is yet available for Urban Air's new Valparaiso location. Building and Code Enforcement Director Vicki Thrasher said it had undergone a preliminary site plan review but had not
yet filed for a building permit.
