A rep for Tom Sizemore says there’s a valid reason the _Black Hawk Down_ actor “tested dirty” for methamphetamine use, as prosecutors put it. It’s because he was taking the prescription drug
Eldepryl, which metabolizes as a substance similar to the highly addictive illegal drug, according to spokeswoman Nancy Seltzer (who also reps Whitney Houston, among others). The comments
from Sizemore’s rep came after prosecutors said Sizemore had violated the terms of probation imposed for abusing ex-girlfriend and former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss by allegedly using
drugs. Sizemore, 42, was sentenced in 2003 to six months in jail and ordered to complete a residential drug rehab program for an admitted addiction to crystal methamphetamine. On Monday,
reports Reuters, prosecutors also accused him of phoning Fleiss and showing up at her home – also in direct violation of his probation. Prosecutor Robert Cha says that Sizemore’s lawyer,
Mark Werksman, had filed a declaration from a doctor blaming the “dirty” test on his continued use of Eldepryl, which, according to Cha, is a drug approved only for treatment of Parkinson’s
disease. Cha also stated that subsequent tests showed that Sizemore had used methamphetamine. Seltzer said the “dirty” drug test came as a result of his Eldepryl use but declined to say why
was taking it, adding that he does not suffer from Parkinson’s. On June 25, Sizemore is due back in court for a hearing, at which he is expected to request a new trial.
