In what is being widely hailed as a historic judgement in one of India’s most horrific crimes, the Supreme Court upheld the death sentence awarded to all the four convicts in the 2012
gangrape and murder of medical student Jyoti Singh, known nationwide as ‘Nirbhaya’. However, as Twitterati welcomed the death penalty, several pointed to the delay in pronouncing the verdict
– demanding quicker action in other rape cases. Then, there were many others who questioned the release of the juvenile – one of the six convicts in the high-profile case. ‘DESERVED NOTHING
