the retail trend, topping national sales of dive equipment and experiencing its busiest season in five years.

Coastal Water Dive Bunbury owner Torry Goodall said over the past five years they had a 40 per cent increase in people wanting to dive.

He said the secret was to provide honest customer service which was tailor-made to suit each person. Last week he received the AUP Ezi-Pay Dealer of the Year 2016 award for selling the most

Oceanic scuba diving and snorkelling equipment in Australia, taking home the prize narrowly ahead of a Sydney dive shop.

Mr Goodall said winning the award for a second year in a row was recognition they were doing something right.

He said they provided interest-free finance to customers who wanted to buy dive equipment and lessons which gave more people the opportunity to dive. “The shop continues to be growing in

sales nationally and more people are wanting to dive,” he said.

“This has been the best season we have had in five years, more people are learning to dive locally and then going overseas. “We offer family-based dive trips overseas and in the winter

months go to the Solomon Islands, Philippines and Thailand.”

He said despite what people said, Bunbury had the best demographic for a small business to succeed.

Oceanic regional sales representative Scott Trenwith said Oceanic was the biggest supplier of dive equipment in Australia and it was impressive for Mr Goodall to win the award two years in a

row.

He said it was clear Mr Goodall had dedication and passion to deliver good customer service and he loved what he did.
