Dr. Amy Potter assumed the role of Associate Director of Patient Care Services on May 19, 2025. Dr. Potter began her career as an emergency department nurse in the community but, driven by
her commitment to serving Veterans, joined the Dayton VA Medical Center in 2011. Her roles there have included ED Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse Leader, Clinical Coordinator, and Chief
Nurse of Primary Care Service. A testament to her lifelong learning ethos, Dr. Potter graduated from the VHA Health Care Leadership Development Program, the VISN 10 Leadership Development
Program, and the Dayton Leadership Development Program. She holds a certification in Evidence-Based Practice and recently achieved certification as a Nursing Executive. Outside of her
professional commitments, Dr. Potter participates in the Bach Society of Dayton, enjoys preparing and performing recitals, and cherishes family time. During her children’s collective
nine-year involvement with the Bellbrook High School Marching Band, she combined her passions for music and nursing by volunteering as the "Marching Band Nurse." Married for 19
years, she has five adult children and two grandchildren, George, 5, and Henry, 2, with a third grandchild expected in early August. Dr. Potter describes being a grandmother, affectionately
known as "Gigi," as one of her life's greatest joys.
