Los Angeles , CA — The Department of Veterans Affairs is pleased to announce the appointment of John Kuhn, as the new Deputy Medical Center Director (SES) of the VA Greater Los Angeles


Healthcare System (VAGLAHS). Mr. Kuhn has over 30 years of experience in homelessness and has led the development and launch of the Supported Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program,


VA’s homelessness prevention and rapid re-housing initiative.  Prior to working with SSVF, he authored VA’s CHALENG Report.  Earlier in his career, he led VA homeless programs in New Jersey,


developing innovative employment, housing, and treatment services.  He has received local and national recognition for this work including the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans’


Federal Partnership Award, Mutual of America’s Community Partnership Medal, acknowledgement by the former Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee who had the Flag of The United


States flown over the Capitol in his honor, New Jersey Hospital Association’s Award for Community Outreach, and was twice recognized by the Federal Executive Board as Supervisor of the Year.


Mr. Kuhn has a BA from Brown University, a MSW from Columbia University and an MPH from Rutgers University. Mr. Kuhn will be effective in leading GLA employees, volunteers, health care
