Orlando , FL — The Orlando VA Healthcare System (OVAHCS) is proud to announce a special Breastfeeding Awareness event held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 8:30 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. in

recognition of World Breastfeeding Week. This free, public event will be held  in the main auditorium on the 4th floor of the Orlando VA Medical Center in Lake Nona, located at 13800

Veterans Way, Orlando, FL 32827. Highlighting breastfeeding support for all, the event aims to provide comprehensive resources and support for breastfeeding families within the community.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in cooking demonstrations, access various community and VA resources, discuss common myths, and hear powerful testimonials from Veteran

mothers.   The event will also feature lactation counselors who will be available throughout the day to offer guidance and support. Additionally, dedicated lactation pumping spaces will be

provided to ensure comfort and convenience for breastfeeding/chestfeeding attendees.  "We are committed to supporting all breastfeeding/chestfeeding families and providing them with the

resources and information they need to succeed," said OVACHS Reproductive Health Dietitian, Carly Lewin. "This event is a great opportunity for the community to come together,

learn, and share experiences in a supportive environment." Early registration is encouraged to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees. To register, please email
