Meghan, Duchess of Sussex had many royal watchers concerned last month after she spoke out in an emotional interview with ITV’s Tom Bradby. In “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey”, the
Duchess of Sussex spoke candidly about her struggles with getting used to life in the spotlight. She even revealed that her friends had warned her off royal life with Prince Harry. The
Duchess’ former agent Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne recently told MailOnline that she had indeed tried to talk to Meghan about how her privacy would suffer if she became a member of the Royal Family.
She said: “I said, ‘This is serious. This is the end of your normal life, the end of your privacy – everything’. “But she just held up her hand and said: ‘Stop. I don’t want to hear any
negativity. This is a happy time for us’.” However, it seems that some of Prince Harry’s former flames have also struggled with the same problem. Chelsy Davy has even opened up about how
she ended the relationship because she “couldn’t cope” with the glare of the spotlight. Ms Davy is perhaps the most well-known of the Prince’s ex-girlfriends, as she and Harry were together
for a number of years. Their relationship began in 2003, and they dated on-and-off until 2010. Ms Davy also made an appearance at Kate Middleton and Prince William’s 2012 royal wedding,
and reportedly helped Harry with his cheeky yet heartwarming best man’s speech. READ MORE: HARRY'S TEARFUL CALL WITH CHELSY DAVY BEFORE MARRYING MEGHAN REVEALED "I was trying to
be a normal kid and it was horrible." Ms Davy went back to her home country of Zimbabwe after the split. She added: “It was nuts. That's also why I wanted to go back to Africa. Now
it's calm, it's fine.' “ Heartbreakingly, Harry’s ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas also called time on her royal romance for similar reasons. In her 2017 biography “Harry: Life,
Loss, and Love”, royal author Katie Nicholl explains the actor and dancer ended her two-year relationship with the prince in 2014 when she decided she did not want to handle the attention
that comes with being royal. Ms Nicholl writes: “Cressida had been 'completely spooked' while watching TV coverage of William, Kate and George touring New Zealand and Australia
that spring." A friend told Ms Nicholl: “She was sitting at home watching Kate on the royal tour of Australia, and it was a wake-up call. “There was no way she wanted that sort of
attention and she told Harry so.” The friend also revealed: “Harry didn’t want things to end. “He was in love with her and he tried to convince her they could make it work, but Cressida’s
mind was made up. "Harry suffered a real blow when she said ‘I can’t do this.’ I think she really broke his heart.” Ms Nicholl adds: “Twice [Harry] had been left heartbroken because
the women he had fallen in love with didn’t want to share the life he had been born into.”
