Better Call Saul is set before the events of Breaking Bad, which should mean that its creator has a good idea of how it’ll wrap up. However, co-creator Vince Gilligan doesn’t know where or
how the show will conclude. Gilligan created the show with Peter Gould, and it tells the story of con-man turned small-time lawyer, James Morgan "Jimmy" McGill (played by Bob
Odenkirk). Jimmy went on to be Walter White’s (Bryan Cranston) lawyer, yet Better Call Saul is all about the moments before Walter stepped foot in Jimmy’s office. Jimmy eventually becomes
known as Saul Goodman, lawyer to small-time criminals. However, one issue that most TV and movie prequels have is that viewers know how it's all going to end. Yet, Gilligan recently
revealed that he’s finding coming up with an ending harder than he thought it would be. "This was exponentially harder, because you have to backfill into it and you have to get all
those details right,” Gilligan said during the Better Call Saul conference at San Diego Comic-Con. “And on top of that, we don't really know where it ends,” he added. He continued: “We
know at a certain point it becomes the Breaking Bad story, but what happens after that? “Saul Goodman/Jimmy McGill/Gene, all that goes on,” he finished. The show’s done a remarkable job at
filling in Saul’s past. It has also been nominated for three Golden Globes and 23 Primetime Emmys. Given the complex nature of the plot, it’s no wonder that Gilligan’s finding it difficult
to tie everything together. Fans already know that post-Breaking Bad, Saul is working in a Cinnabon as Gene. There are constant flash forwards to this moment in Better Call Saul. This means
that not only do Gilligan and company have to figure out how Saul gets to the point right before meeting Walter for the first time, but also how he ended up working in a Cinnabon after
Breaking Bad. The Gene storyline has a big cliffhanger that needs resolving. The last time viewers saw him, he had just collapsed after returning from a lunch break. _BETTER CALL SAUL SEASON
