THE NEWS COMES AS JOHN SUGDEN'S SECRETS STRUGGLE TO BE CONTAINED 08:54, 04 Jun 2025 Emmerdale star Geoff Dignan has confirmed his exit from the ITV soap after making his debut earlier

this year for a few episodes as Aidan Moore. Viewers were first introduced to Aidan when John Sugden paid him a visit in hospital. Before then, we had only heard about him through

John's version of events - that he was a friend from the army and had died. While some fans were suspicious as to why John wore Aidan's dog tag around his neck, it was Victoria who

first learned the truth behind Aidan. As John's half-sister contacted an old army friend of John's to try and find out more about his past ready for his wedding with Aaron Dingle,

she was in for a shock when he informed her that Aidan was very much still alive and in a coma in hospital. Not only that, but Aidan was John's ex-fiancé. While Victoria eventually

promised John she wouldn't tell Aaron but that he had to himself, Mackenzie Boyd also learned the truth and took it straight to his best friend. Aaron felt betrayed, but the pair have

recently got things back on track as they went through with their wedding - even though Robert Sugden put a stop to the ceremony and kissed Aaron. Article continues below However, as viewers

will recall, Aidan awoke from his coma right before John was due to get married and although he could barely speak he kept saying John's name. John visited him on his wedding day,

worried that if Aidan started talking then the real reason as to why he ended up in the coma would be exposed. In a panic, John pulled out a syringe and told him: "I never wanted to

have to do this but you gave me no choice. I wanted something painless so you'd just drop off but your mum wouldn't leave me alone so this is all I could grab". However, he

quickly changed his mind but Aidan suffered a cardiac arrest and slipped right back into his coma. Although Aidan is still alive, actor Geoff Dignan who plays the role took to his X

(formerly known as Twitter) and posted pictures of the previously mentioned scenes with John. Article continues below Alongside the snaps, he wrote: "I had an absolute blast playing

Aidan Moore in Emmerdale. I've met great people from the crew to the very talented cast. Thank you to my agent @StarkTalentUK." Geoff then teased that this might not be the last

fans see of Aidan, as he added: "Who knows what's in store 4 Aidan, after all it's Emmerdale, he's woken up once... why not one more time" with a laughing emoji.
