The remnants of a Late Bronze Age (1500-750 B.C.) fortress that may have protected an important urban economic centre has been found in Cyprus by a University of Cincinnati archaeologist.
Walls and the remains of a staircase leading up to a destroyed circular tower-like structure were found. The find fills a gap in our knowledge of that period in history. The fortress is
thought to have been the first structure in the area, which began the process of urbanization there, according to archaeologist Gisela Walberg. Read more at University of Cincinnati
