The apex court in its 2017 order in a PIL had directed that Rs 5 lakh be paid to all victims irrespective of the category they fall in, according to a 2021 report by a Special Cell for
Rehabilitation of Endosulfan Victims. The special cell's report also says that medical camps held in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2017 in the district had identified 6,727 people, in five
categories, who were affected by the toxic pesticide.
